Thanks 2 Rivers. The building is a huge arena used for ice hockey, trade shows and concerts. I’ve always thought it looked a bit like an alien spaceship. The clouds didn’t really pop until I added a high contrast red filter.
Thank you, Lee. It’s very tempting to use the red filter on many of my black and white photos. My instructor always complained that the photos were too contrasty and that a lot of detail gets lost in the shadow, but I just like the darker, moody look.

Very strong, dynamic composition! I remember old westerns used to use a red filter to get that “big sky” look. Beautiful.
